Club History

The Nautical Club Korthiou, Andros, was created in 1989 having as its primary target to give to everyone the opportunity to learn and love the nautical sports and also to provide a cultural activities, since, based on the beliefs of the founders of the Club, Athletics and Sports in general, are bind with unbreakable bonds with Culture it self. 

In the beginning the Club organized swimming lessons for kids, quickly though it expanded to other activities. 

Water Polo classes as well as Windsurfing Classes followed soon and as the peoples participation grew new training groups were created.  The continues effort and the willingness gave the first Athletic results in the Greek Windsurfing Championship.  Two of our Windsurfing Athletes George Fragos and Nikos Skordos distinguished both in Greek as well as in World Championships.   Especially George has been in the Greek National team for the past several years and currently is one of the three members of the Greek Windsurfing Olympic Team. 

 

Club Objective  

• The main objective of the Club is to provide creative alternatives to all of the young people of the area and at the same time to give to everyone an opportunity to have fun and relax. 
• It works with volunteers, which put their best effort in order to achieve the Clubs goals and objectives. 
• The Nautical Club Korthiou, is always open to new ideas from anyone and is grateful for any help that is provided towards its needs.
